Parents are welcome to help out in the classrooms with everyday activities, one-on-one and group support such as reading to the students.
Parents are also welcome to present or assist with teaching activities in their own fields of knowledge.
Parents who would like to demonstrate special activities, such as yoga and dance, are welcomed. If we can tie parents’ expertise with the curriculum goals, the students will really benefit.
We want and value parent engagement and support. Particularly as a new school that wants to serve the whole child, we need to learn how best to support each child – and parents can help us with that. SSLA does not have a requirement that parents volunteer a certain number of hours during each school year, but we invite parents to join us and lend us their own knowledge and expertise. We can also use parents’ support in helping us grow and prosper so that we can provide the best possible learning environment for our children.
